Birmingham clothes show 2014

Birmingham Clothes Show 2014

disclaimer: Im absolutely gutted as I lost my memory card for my camera :'( so the amazing pictures I took (jokes not that big headed) wont be featuring, but I believe its at school which means hopefully I will get it back next term. I also have mocks so I'll will be super busy so  blogs will be slowwwwwwwwwwww !

So a couple of weeks ago, I went to the Clothes show in Birmingham, on a textiles trip.It was amazing!!!!

It started with a fairly early morning although not nearly as bad as Amsterdam, and a long coach trip again not as long as Amsterdam. when we finally got there we filtered into the big shopping hall and it was MASSIVE!

After we had a stroll around looking at all the little stalls and big ones too. Then we did some serious shopping!!!! I bought two tops! (not to serious)

Then I got to see some university work which was AMAZING  and was really inspiring! I got to go last year and was the main reason I carried on with textiles was the Uni students work!

We also saw some famous faces lots of the Made in Chelsea and the Towie cast were there. unfortunately Alfie and Jim were there the previous days I was really disappointed :(

THEN THE FASHION SHOW AND  IT WAS  AMAZING  EKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!
(sorry for shouting got a little excited)

But seriously the fashion show was incredible and really impressive! This show is different from most shows as theirs dancers as well as models which is far more entertaining. This year the theme was New York and it blew me away, also Stereo Kicks performed and they we're really good!

Then we had the long coach journey home ( is it me or does it always take longer to go home then get there?) it took HOURS!!!!!!!

oh and happy Christmas and see yah next year!

AMSTERDAM ADVERNTURES!!!

so sorry I haven't posted recently I've been soooooooooooo busy with school!

AMSTERDAM ADVENTURES

This half term I went on a art trip to Amsterdam and it was amazing!

Even though the early morning start of half five was a struggle. The long coach journey wasn't too bad I was with good friends and I believe I slept most of the way- to be honest I can't actually remember the journey (bit of a blur).

when we arrived it was around half eight in the evening and us girls just had a lazy evening of figuring the WIFI password (obviously), sorting our rooms out and sleeping.

The next day, with a bit more sleep on our side and a okay breakfast, we ventured out into Amsterdam.

The first stop was the Van Gogh museum which was really good although no picture were aloud and we only had an hour to see everything.

We then went to cute little seaside village just outside of Amsterdam. We had a while to explore and visit all the little shops, me and my friend tried every tester in the cheese factor, by the end I think the staff were ready to throw us out- it was very nice there and I wish I could remember the name :(
we then headed back to the hotel to have dinner and freshen up.

In the evening we had a guided tour of Amsterdam which was umm eventful. As well as its beautiful scenery and bikes, Amsterdam is known for a few other things for example, drugs and prostitution we did venture into the red light district which was interesting. Amsterdam is a truly beautiful place especially at night in the right places.

The scenery is amazing we came cross a bridge which is obviously replicating the bridge in France but I thought this was really cute.

The next day was our last we went to the foam photography museum, being honest I wasn't that blown away I found the building more interesting than the photography.

We then went to Ann Franks house which  was really interesting and has really motivated me to read her diary, also reminded me of fault in our stars.  ;)

The next day we travelled the 14hrs back, Im so glad I went and I really recommend it although I genuinely thought I was going to get run over by bikes and the smell of weed is rather strong at times I feel like the experience has cultured me and would say I've become closer to friends over the experience.

Book review : Sovay by Celia Rees

Book review of Sovay by Celia Rees

The book is set in England during the French revolution, Sovay is a young heroine who doesn't conform the traditional ladylike serotype of the time period. Sovay becomes a highwayman to test her lover, But when she's faced with the disappearance of her Farther, Brother and her family's accused of treason she's forced to take matters in her own hands.

I personally really enjoyed the story I loved Sovay was a strong independent women not relaying on men to save her, Which is rare for the time period. Although I love the book, I felt the ending was rushed and confusing I believe if the book was split into two or even three it would have been better and the plot would be easier to follow. I found the time period really interesting its an unusual setting and I found it refreshing.

All in all I really enjoyed the book and I would recommended it to older readers as the writing style is mature and I feel 13+ would get the most out of this book.

Thanks for reading,
 Lilly x

American style eggy fried bready

So this is one of my favourite breakfast/brunch recipe

American style eggy fried bready
(French toast to some)

Ingredients (for one)
1 piece of white bread
2 eggs
1 small glass of milk
 2 slices of bacon
1 small spoon of maple syrup

Start with the milk and eggs in a mixing bowl, Whisk until egg and milk are fully combined.

Then soak bread in the eggy mixture. Using a medium size frying pan put a nob of butter in the frying pan. Then place the eggy bread in the frying pan. Fry both sides until slightly crispy, Then fry the bacon. Put the eggy bread on a plate, put the bacon on top and drizzle maple syrup over.

Then you done!   Enjoy!
